The Information We Collect.
- Personally-identifiable Information You Choose to Provide
You do not have to provide personally-identifiable information to access or use the Site. However, to take full advantage of the Site, you may choose to furnish us with personally-identifiable information through the Site. For example, if you register for services, such as our mailing list, or compete transactions, such as purchases, on the Site, you will be asked to provide contact information (such as name, email address, street/mailing address and phone numbers) or payment information (such as your credit card number). We will only collect such information through the Site when you provide it to us voluntarily. Further, the amount of personal information you provide is completely voluntary.
- Site Use Information
Our Site utilizes "cookies" and web server logs to collect information about how our Site is used in order to assess how users access and utilize the site. Cookies are text files placed on your hard disk by our web server to store your preferences. Cookies, by themselves, do not tell us your email address or other personally-identifiable information unless you choose to provide this information to us. However, once you choose to provide the personal information, this information may be linked to the data stored in the cookie. Most web browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Please note, however, that certain features of the site might not function if you delete or disable cookies. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. THE SITE'S COOKIES DO NOT AND CANNOT INFILTRATE A USER'S HARD DRIVE TO COLLECT ANY INFORMATION STORED ON THE HARD DRIVE.
Information gathered through cookies and web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, and time spent at our Site, and the other websites visited just before and just after our Site.
We also may collect certain non-personally identifiable information (i.e., generic information that does not identify you personally) when you visit any of the web pages on our Site, such as the type of browser you are using, the type of operating system you are using, and the domain name of your Internet service provider.
The Site server may also collect your internet protocol (IP) address information. Your IP address is an identifying number that is automatically assigned to your computer by your internet service provider (ISP). This number is identified and logged in our and/or our service providers' server log files whenever you visit the Black Opal Website, along with the time(s) of your visit(s) and the page(s) that you visited.
