Malaika is a not-for-profit organization that mobilizes resources in an effort to supply the best education for Congolese girls.
Malaika accomplishes its mission by providing free, quality education at its school in the southern Democratic Republic of Congo, supplying clean water by building wells, and transforming villages through community centers. By providing better choices and opportunities, these girls will have a greater capacity to become leaders that promote change in their communities.
Noella Coursairs Musunka is an international model, humanitarian and founder of Malaika. Noella is a native of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo [DRC] and is "fiercely proud" of her African heritage. Noella founded Malaika in 2007 during her modelling career to empower Congolese women and promote socio-economic development in the country. In addition to the work she does through Malaika, Noella has advocated for the DRC on other platforms, including UNICEF, the Congolese Parliament, the Clinton Global Initiative and TEDx. She has also been featured on CNN, BBC, Fox TV and in "Vanity Fair."
